Biography
Jose Real Cintero was born in Llíria in 1992. At the age of 8 he began his musical studies at the Centro Unió Musical de Llíria, and continued his studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Llíria and the Conservatorio Superior de Castelló. He furthered his training by studying for a Master’s Degree in Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, under the direction of Matthias Höfs.
His awards include: Winner of the Concurso Nacional de Jóvenes Intérpretes “Ciudad de Llíria” in its three modalities: Laurona, Leiria and Edeta. First prize in the Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes “Villa de Castellnovo” in categories C and B. Professional Music Prize at the Conservatory of Llíria. First Classified in the Autonomous Phase of the VII National Competition of Interpretation “Intercentros Melómano” Comunidad Valenciana. First Prize in the International Trumpet Competition in Monçao (Portugal), International Competition in Lugano, among others.
Jose has received scholarships from various institutions including: Music Prize and Scholarship from the Balaguer Gonel Hermanos Foundation, Scholarship from the Dávalos Fletcher Foundation and CulturArts Scholarship from the Generalitat Valenciana (Institut Valencià de Cultura).
His musical career includes collaborations with different orchestras such as JONDE, RTVE, Orquesta “Gran Teatre Liceu” Barcelona, Orquesta de Valencia, Orchestra Schleswing Holstein Musik Festival, European Union Youth, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Verbier Festival Orchester, Essen Philharmoniker, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Bremen Philharmoniker, Hamburg Symphoniker, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and MúsicaAeterna, among others. Academician of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, under the baton of Bassam Mussad, he has collaborated as trumpet soloist with the Oslo Philharmonic and Essener Philharmoniker.
He has played under the baton of conductors such as: Mr. Daniel Harding, Mr. Teodor Currentzis, Mr. Zubin Mehta, Mr. Ivan Fischer, Mr. Antonio Pappano, Mr. Esa Pekka Salonen, among others.
As a soloist he has collaborated with different orchestras and ensembles in Spain, Europe, etc. At the same time, as a teacher, he has given classes in Spain, Germany, Romania, Japan, etc….
Jose has recorded CDs for trumpet and piano.
Also has recorded several CDs for trumpet and piano, such as “Promenade” and “The Modern Trumpet”, as well as collaborations in different CDs such as “Gold of the Kind” with Matthias Höfs Ensemble.
Jose is currently co-principal trumpet in the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, a job he combines with his solo career and his work as a teacher at VIPA College Valencia.
Jose Real Cintero was born in Llíria in 1992. At the age of 8 he began his musical studies at the Centro Unió Musical de Llíria, studies that he would continue at the Professional Conservatory of Llíria, Conservatorio Superior de Castelló and at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt (Austria), with Professor D. Reinhold Ambros. He extended his training by pursuing a Master’s degree in Interpretation at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, under the direction of Prof. Matthias Höfs.
He has attended courses and classes from professors Andrés Simeó, Vicente Campos, Enrique Rioja, Luis González, James Watson, Charles Geyer, Bárbara Buttler and Johannes Bartmann, among others.
He has revived the following PRIZES : Winner of the National Competition for Young Performers «Ciudad de Llíria». First prize in the «Villa de Castellnovo» Young Performers Contest. Professional Music Prize at the Llíria Conservatory, first classified in the Autonomous Phase of VII National Interpretation Contest «Intercentros Melómano» Valencian Community, first price in the International Trumpet Competition in Monçao (Portugal), among others.
He has received Scholarships from…the Balaguer Gonel Hermanos Foundation, Dávalos Fletcher Foundation and CulturArts Scholarship from the Generalitat Valenciana (Institut Valencià de Cultura).
Among his recordings: “Promenade” together with the pianist Miriam Montañana and “Kind of Gold” with Matthias Höfs-Ensembles.

He is currently co-principal Solo Trumpet of Beethoven Orchester Bonn.
